Game recaps :  Mound 3 @ Maple plain 5. Maple Plain got off to a 2-0 lead in the second inning on a walk, single and a double with a throwing error on the relay that allowed the second run to score (MP 2- Mound 0). The Mallards got 1 back in the 4th after Chris Harrell got a 2 bagger and with 2 outs Mike Mitchell singled to right to drive him in (MP 2- Mound 1). Maple Plain came back in the bottom of the 5th with a single and the next batter bunted the runner over but the throw sailed high to allow the runner to gain third for 1st and third with nobody out. A sac fly and another one of the 4 Mallard double plays kept the score at 3-1 (MP 3- Mound 1). Mound came right back again in the 6th. Peter Sycks doubled and again with 2 outs the Mallards came through with a Eddie Kutz 2 bagger to drive in the run (MP 3- Mound 2).  In the bottom of the 6th the Devils came right back again on a hit by pitch, single followed by another single but Mound turned a double play and stopped the inning at 1 run (MP 4- Mound 2). In the 8th MP added to the lead with a single steal of 2nd and another single in which there may have been a play at the plate but Mound missed the cut and the runner cruised home for an insurance run (MP 5 Mound 2). It looked as if Mound would go down in the 9th without a fight but With 2 outs Robb Moynagh singled to right  and Peter Sycks worked out a walk in a 8 pitch at bat to bring Andy Snyder up with the game tying run. Andy crushed a ball to the left center field gap that some how was cut off before it made it to the fence scoring only 1 run and putting runners on 1st and second. Unfortunately the next batter would pop foul to 3rd to end the game (MP 5- Mound 3).

Mound 9 @ Rockford 3: In Mounds second game, which was an elimination game, they would play Rockford who had already beaten the Mallards twice during the season. Rockford Started the scoring in the bottom of the first with a leadoff walk followed by a sac bunt that was thrown away. The next batter hit into a 3-6-3 twin killing and the inning would end with just the one run ( Rockford 1- mound 0).  In the third inning the Mound sticks awoke and it spelled the beginning of the end for the Bandits. Nick Rettke and Joe Wood started it off with walks and Peter Harrell bunted it perfect for a single to load the bases. Robb Moynagh lined one to center to score the teams first run and after 2 grounders to third in which each forced a runner at the plate Chris Harrell came up and on a 1-2 pitch gapped one to right center clearing the bases (Mound4- Rockford 1). The 5th would see Mound strike again with a Peter Harrell walk and a bunt down the first base line that the Bandits had trouble deciding how to play it and in a close play at first Robb Moynagh was called safe for a 1st and 2nd no out start. A Peter Sycks single would load the bases and back to back short to second force outs would give Andy Snyder and Chris Harrell each a run batted in (Mound 6- Rockford 1). The bottom of the inning would see Rockford get a single, double and a triple to score 2 runs but C. Harrell would retire the next batter and end his days pitching in line and in the end getting the victory ( Mound 6- Rockford 3). In the seventh the Mallards were looking for some insurance runs and got one on a Andy Snyder walk, C. Harrell single and on a foul pop up off Mike Mitchell's bat that Ryan Rasset made a falling down over the shoulder catch down the right field line and Snyder beat the throw to the plate (Mound 7- Rockford 3). In the 8th Mound came back looking for more and with1 out Peter Harrell singled to left and on a 1-2 pitch Robb Moynagh doubled to the fence in the left center field gap scoring Pete from first. Andy Snyder would follow with a rocket to the gap in left center field easily scoring Robb and finishing off the scoring ( Mound 9- Rockford 3). Andy Keding would keep the game out of reach with a 4 inning save giving Rockford no chances in his 4 innings of work.
